Inequality and the expanding gap between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots’ continues to grow, with one in ten West Aussies now living in poverty, despite the state being home to some of Australia’s wealthiest individuals.

100 Families WA is a first-of-its-kind research project that following engagement with 400 families living in disadvantage, offers key insights on what helps, what hinders and what could be done differently to meaningfully address this issue.

What is ‘Welcome to Our World’ and how do I use it?

‘Welcome to Our World’ is an online tool that promotes awareness of what families living in disadvantage go through and what can be done to address this issue.

By increasing awareness we hope it will deepen peoples understanding and in turn, promote empathy and meaningful action.

*Each family journey is a composite of many families’ experiences and was developed alongside people with lived experience.

**The images and audio recordings feature people with lived experience

Awareness. Empathy. Action
